15 Stores that Accept Cryptocurrency in 2023
Before we dive in, it’s important to know that most of the stores on our list require shopping online. While some of these stores do accept cryptocurrency in-store, they are few and far between. So, if you are heading to the mall, make sure you have some fiat on hand!
1. Overstock.com
Does your mom want a new coffee table? Or maybe your partner wants a new bedspread. Either way, Overstock.com has you covered, and you can pay with cryptocurrency for all their products upon checkout.
2. Microsoft
While you may not be buying your best friend a new computer, if you want to buy them some accessories, you can pay for them in cryptocurrency on Microsoft.com. Just note that Microsoft doesn’t accept cryptocurrencies for subscriptions, so if you are looking for access to Word or Excel for the next year, you’ll need to use a credit card.
3. Expedia
Booking a trip for your family as a gift? You can check out on Expedia.com using Bitcoin, Ethereum, and several other cryptocurrencies.
If you prefer to buy airline tickets directly from the airline (which is always a safer option), we recommend checking out the following airlines that allow cryptocurrency payments:
· Air Baltic
· Cielo Aviation
4. Shopify
Want to shop small this holiday season? While it is rare that smaller retailers accept cryptocurrencies for purchases, it can happen, especially if they have a shop built on Shopify. Any vendor using the Shopify payment processor can allow their customers to pay with crypto, even if they haven’t realized it themselves yet!
5. Ace Jewelers
Ace Jewelers is one of many online platforms that offer the Bitpay option at checkout. Bitpay allows customers to pay for their products with a wide range of cryptocurrencies, from Bitcoin to Dogecoin. So, if you are buying jewelry this year, head over to Ace and be sure to select the Bitpay option at checkout.
Other jewelry merchants who accept cryptocurrency:
· CRM Jewelers
6. AMC Theaters
AMC Theaters offers customers the option to pay with Bitcoin when buying tickets online in advance. While we aren’t sure if this will work for buying AMC-related gifts for friends and family (such as flex tickets or gift cards), it is worth looking into if you have a cinephile on your hands.
7. Beliani
Those who live in Europe (mainly Italy and Switzerland) can spend their cryptocurrency at the online retailer Beliani this year. While Black Friday isn’t as big in Europe, some companies do offer deep discounts on old stock leading up to the holiday season.
8. Dallas Mavericks
If you have a Dallas Mavericks fan on your shopping list this holiday season, then you are in luck as the Dallas Mavericks team store accepts cryptocurrencies for all purchases thanks to its CEO Mark Cuban, who is fond of crypto.
While they aren’t as popular, note that the Sacramento Kings also accept crypto for payment for tickets and merchandise. For NFL fans, the Miami Dolphins team store and stadiums also accept cryptocurrency.
9. Pacsun
Pacsun is a clothing retailer often found in shopping malls and known for its surfer, summery vibe. Those who love the surfer aesthetic (or know someone who does) can easily shop at Pacsun and check out using a variety of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more.
10. Ralph Lauren
Pacsun isn’t the only retailer that accepts crypto, as Ralph Lauren joined the cryptocurrency trend this year. Whether you want one of their iconic sweaters or maybe some golf clothes, you can check out online with your crypto wallet this year.
11. Sling TV
Tired of paying for Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN and trying to keep all the streaming services straight? Put a stop to the madness when you buy a Sling TV subscription. While this may not be the best gift for all those on your list, sometimes you have to treat yourself, and Sling accepts crypto!
12. The D Hotel Las Vegas
Remember that trip you wanted to plan with crypto? Consider staying at the D Hotel in Las Vegas, where you can pay with crypto in all parts of the hotel, including the restaurants and bars, however, you’ll need cash if you want to play in the casino.
13. The Home Depot
Yes, you read that right. You can head to Home Depot and check out with your crypto wallet IN STORES, making it an excellent Black Friday shopping option. Just make sure you choose the Flexas option at checkout.
14. Whole Foods
Okay, so you probably should buy your family gifts at Whole Foods on Black Friday (as it will probably go bad before you can gift it). But, if you need a snack break while shopping, pop into your local Whole Foods and choose the Flexas option at checkout, which will let you pay with Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Gemini Dollar.
15. Starbucks
Last, but certainly not least, you can use your cryptocurrency to get yourself a Starbucks latte as you shop. Be aware, however, that you need to download the Bakkt app and sync it with your crypto wallet in advance before heading to your nearest Starbucks location to spend your crypto.
Overall, we hope this list has been helpful in guiding you where you can shop with crypto this holiday season. Of course, this isn’t all the retailers, but we think we’ve mentioned all the most popular ones on this list! Happy shopping and Happy Holidays!
