President Biden Has Dropped Out of the Election: Now What?
It’s been all over the news, and if you haven’t come across it yet, then you’re definitely living under a rock. While Biden backing out of the election is definitely the right choice, it also is causing a ripple effect in politics.
How you ask? Well, we will explain everything in this article, so keep reading.
Why Has Biden Dropped Out of The Election?
For many individuals, Biden dropping out of the election was a shocking event, but honestly, we saw it coming. First of all, Biden turned 81 years old this year, an age which many Americans don’t even live to see. The truth is, he’s old, and it shows, especially at his last debate performance where he couldn’t even hold his own against Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Of course, we suspect that Biden didn’t drop out on his own, but rather because of the pressure of the Democratic party. They realized that Biden isn’t strong enough of a candidate to stand against Trump in the polls, and we agree. That being said, he endorsed Kamala Harris to take his position, but we don’t know the Democratic party will allow that to happen.
Who Will Take Biden’s Place?
It seems natural that current Vice President Kamala Harris would step up to the plate as Biden steps down, but it’s important to note that she cannot officially be named his replacement until the Democratic convention in August. As such, it is still possible that the Democrats will choose someone else to represent them in the coming election.
Kamala Harris currently has a lot of support, most notably from Bill and Hilary Clinton and Biden himself, however, it may not be enough to land her the Democratic nomination. In the past, America has (sadly) been against having a female President for reasons we can’t understand, something which may have contributed to Hilary Clinton losing to Trump in 2016. Because of this, the democratic party may be hesitant to nominate another woman, though we personally believe Harris will fare much better in polls than Clinton, who also had some previous concerns of dishonesty.
Currently, Harris holds enough delegate votes that she should win the nomination in a few weeks. Things could change before that, however, as the polls are not set in stone. As it is, another nominee has not been named prior to the writing of this article.

What is Kamala Harris’ Stance on Cryptocurrency?
Kamala Harris was born in California, the child of two scientist parents. As such, she has always had a more positive view on technology and innovation than her much older running mates. Additionally, Kamala Harris is just 59 years old, meaning she views the future of cryptocurrency much more positively than Biden, who associated with many anti-crypto politicians like Elizabeth Warren.
That being said, she has not yet taken an official stance on cryptocurrency, though experts predict that she will be much more for the technology than Biden was. They also believe she will look more into regulation and adaptation than prevention. This could be good news for several of the blockchain companies currently facing government investigation.
It is extremely important to cryptocurrency enthusiasts everywhere that the next president of the United States is pro crypto. Why? Because the current chair of the SEC is set to retire in 2026, meaning the next US President will be responsible for appointing a new one.
What is Kamala Harris’ Stance on AI?
Another big topic of the upcoming election is AI, which is quickly sweeping the world and putting many humans out of a job. Harris notably has many connections in the tech world, something which has concerned voters. Additionally, Harris has always been a bit more pro-big business than some democrats would like.
Even with that information, however, Kamala has revealed a pro-regulation stance on AI. She believes that it can better business, but there also needs to be strong policies to protect humans. What those policies will look like, we are unsure, but she has already started talking about regulations on the human rights front, from paid family to paid medical leave—something which would be a huge step for Americans who have long gone without.
Of course, because Kamala is just now finding out that she will be running, we expect she will release more statements on her stances on hot issues in the coming days, the notes here are mostly based on previous stances stated as VP.

Who Will Run With Kamala Harris?
As of July 23rd, 2024, Kamala Harris has not announced her running mate for the coming election. We strongly suspect that the official vice president candidate will be announced at the Democratic convention in August. Until then, we can only theorize on who will be chosen.
Here is the shortlist according to CNN:
· North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper
· Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro
· Arizona Senator Mark Kelly
· Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear
· Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker
· Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg
· Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer*
· California Governor Gavin Newsom*
All of these individuals are prominent democrats and have been asked to submit information which would qualify them to run alongside Kamala Harris.
The two * indicate the two least likely to be chosen. Gretchen Whitmer has made it clear that she does not want to leave Michigan meaning she would likely be an unwilling candidate. In the same manner, Gavin Newsom is unlikely to be chosen due to strict California voting laws which govern the way delegates are allowed to vote in federal elections. As such, we believe the VP will be chosen from the first 6 candidates on the list, though we believe Buttigieg is also an unlikely pick due to public criticism of some of his recent actions.
Overall, we are glad that President Biden can finally retire and enjoy his last years on earth despite the political whirlwind it has caused. We expect this to be a large news piece in the coming weeks and we are curious to see how it develops.
